As you may know, Mr. Mason who taught on of our 6th grade classes is no longer with us. That means we need a new instructor! The job posting can be found at http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/edu/4159061591.html.
GOLD is excited to have rolled out our new attendance policy! No more remembering sign out times, days, etc. The only thing you need to remember is 9 hours a week. Easy, right? All that we ask is that your student tries as hard as they can to be here 9 hours a week. Still have other programs to attend? That's ok too! Just make sure GOLD knows about the other program, and we will accommodate. For the full policy, click HERE.
GOLD went on it's first field trip last Friday, and had a blast! We took 70 kids on public transportation to the Historic Alameda Theater where we saw "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2". The majority of our students were respectful and well behaved, way to represent! Special thanks for our chaperones/parent volunteers: Ms. Solange, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Rea, and Mr. Joseph. We couldn't have made this trip possible without you. We hope to have many more trips like this in the future!
Thanks to our fabulous students, staff, and families, GOLD has gotten off to a great start! We are entering our sixth week of program, and our second week of our official enrichment clubs with all 5 homework classes up and running. Our GOLD family is getting more and more settled in with the flow of program, and works better and better each day as we all get to know each other. Snack, homework time, and enrichment are beginning to transition more seamlessly as we get used to the process.
GOLD would like to thank our families who stuck with us in the early weeks when loss of staff effected the quality of our programming. I am happy to say that we are back on track an running better than ever! Thanks again for your patience! |
